Butterfly Guide Books
One of the essential ingredients in enjoying butterflies are the guide books. They help you try to identify
what you are seeing or the one that got away. It's not always easy and it's not always successful, even for the
seasoned butterfly watcher, but without one you've got no chance!
I generally like to have two butterfly guides - a small field guide that I can carry around
with me in a backpack, and a larger, prettier version that gets stored on my shelves at home. That way I can
more-or-less identify what I saw in the field and then follow up with more detail when I get home.
OK, OK, I put my hands up. I have more than one field guide and many more pretty books on
my shelves at home! But then I love collecting books on butterflies. Well that's my excuse anyway.
